CETEC is a non-profit organization, founded in 1994 and supported by the regional administration and regional manufacturers, with the mission of improving the competitiveness of the regional SMEs and companies in the footwear and plastic sector. Currently, it is formed by almost 70 SMEs and companies of footwear and plastic areas. CETEC is a meeting point to carry out R&D project, acquire legal information, regional and national funding for projects, among other activities.
CETEC is an associate member of the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) and a member of the Network of Technological Centres in the Region of Murcia (CECOTEC) which is recognized as Results Transfer Office for the Government of Spain. Furthermore, CETEC is a full member of The Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU), that is a Public-Private Partnership between the EU and the Bio-based Industries Consortium.

Enzymicals’ service covers the whole value chain towards a tailor-made process for a special application: enzyme identification, expression, characterization, improvement and application in an efficient production process. Enzymicals cooperates with a number of other companies and institutions and has created stable networks through the participation in industry associations (4-chiral network and CMO and CDMO network), seed investors network (BRAIN AG, Braun Beteiligungs GmbH). Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT is a pioneering science university in Finland, bringing together the fields of science and business since 1969. University of Greifswald (UG) was founded in 1456 and is one of the oldest academic institutions in Germany. Today, it has become a modern, moderate-sized university with approximately 220 professors, 10,500 students, 1,600 academic staff and 3,300 technical and administrative staff (including University Medicine) comprising five faculties in a town with 60,000 inhabitants.
The Biotechnology & Enzyme Catalysis Bornscheuer’s group will be involved in the upPE-T proposal. The group is part of the Biochemistry Institute of the University of Greifswald. The Bornscheuer’s group major research target is the development of tailor-made biocatalysts (enzymes) suitable for industrial applications.
